A former showroom built in 1916, the historic building that houses the hotel celebrates the architectural heyday of El Paso.

To craft an expansive space that showcases world-class art yet also provides intimate nooks for gathering and quiet inspiration, the team at Stanton House removed 80 tons of concrete from the original building, while also adding 80 tons of structural steel and a fifth floor that houses four suites. A stirring lightwell was also created to illuminate the hotel’s art installations.

Warm, contemporary fabrics and international allure are embraced by neutral colors, wood, concrete, marble, and terrazos.

The design scheme at Stanton House intentionally challenges the narrative of the “sleepy Southwest border town”, announcing to the world that El Paso is a culture-rich city with international flavors.

Franklin Mountain State Park is the largest urban park in the nation, offering year-round hiking, biking, and city views.

The nearby Tom Fazio Golf Course, Butterfield Trail Golf Club, was named the best municipal course in Texas and the 3rd best in the U.S. in 2013 by Golfweek. El Paso boasts a beautiful Botanical Gardens and zoo. It is also just a short trip to Sunset Heights, where one can discover landmarks that helped to make the city a historic destination.

Art in Focus Visual intrigue

At the hotel’s heart, a four-story lightwell features “Shylights” by Studio Drift, a stunning sculpture that illuminates the restaurant.

Stanton House’s collection of original prints, paintings, and sculptures includes works from both accomplished and up-and-coming Mexican, European, and local artists. As hotel Original Miguel Fernandez notes, “People are astonished to see a work by Damien Hirst, and next to it comparable works from regional artists that are just as meaningful. That’s what drives us.”
