The design blends Miami’s rich architectural heritage with modern tropical influences, producing a visually stunning and functional space. The integration of emerging Latin American artists and lush greenery creates a welcoming ambiance, establishing a unique connection to the local culture. Indeed, the hotel is a curated gallery of artistic expression, with every piece—whether painting, sculpture, or handcrafted furniture—a work of art. Here, vintage glass catches and reflects the sunrise and sunset, with natural light and tropical tones complementing both ocean views and city vignettes.

Embodying elegance, the hotel first opened its doors in 1941 and instantly became a beacon for Miami Beach glamour.

When presented with an iconic structure that has hosted such guests as Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and The Beatles, the visionaries behind The Shelborne By Proper undertook a $100 million renovation in 2024 with an eye toward honoring the past while ushering in a new chapter. The renovation made use of honed Perlino marble, travertine, and wood accents to maintain the structure’s timeless feel. The lobby features a striking interplay of organic curves and geometric precision, with natural light filtering through to create an airy, welcoming environment. Today’s Shelborne presents a rich architectural legacy that merges seamlessly with refined modern luxury.
