Interior design Kit Kemp
Kit Kemp’s eye for eclectic details ensures that no two spaces are alike, with the site’s cricket history well represented in the design.
Here, one finds bats signed by famous cricketers, including Sir Gary Sobers, miniature cricket balls used as door handles on the wardrobes, and 192 ceramic cups designed by artist Martha Freud, each decorated with cricketing phrases. Kemp also infuses Dorset Square Hotel with an exciting mix of bespoke elements, such as luscious new fabrics from her exclusive collection with Christopher Farr and handwoven carpets from Argentina. A sumptuous Drawing Room invites guests to gather on plush sofas or to lounge solo with a good book.
Architecture A Regency gem
This regal property sits on the verdant corner of Marylebone’s Dorset Square, site of Thomas Lord’s original cricket ground.
Housed in two combined Regency townhouses, the hotel has been updated with Kit Kemp’s fresh contemporary English point of view. Inside, 38 bedrooms adorned with items from Kemp’s global travels span five floors, many of them overlooking tranquil private gardens.
