Architecture An Intimate retreat
The structure lay neglected for years until hoteliers Tim and Kit Kemp—whose flair for interior design is world-renowned—transformed the property into one of London’s most charming getaways. Architectural details like a sweeping stone staircase usher guests into sumptuous rooms that cocoon them from the hustle and bustle of nearby boutiques, restaurants, cafés, and bars.
Interior design Kit Kemp
Brought to life by owner and Original Kit Kemp, the interiors pair the motifs of traditional English design—such as floral patterns, regal furnishings, and needlepoint embroidery—with quirks and objets d’art from further afield.

The Originals Kit Kemp

Art & Culture Kemp’s touch
In the Drawing Room, you will discover wood paneling that once adorned the League of Nations building, while selections from Kemp’s own art collection and carefully curated antique furnishings feature throughout the 19th-century property.

Design & Architecture
Green is the color of life, hope, energy, and nature, so I often use it to breathe fresh air into a room. In the Terrace Suite at Ham Yard Hotel, Natasha Hulse has intricately appliquéd one of our signature headboards with an elaborate floral design. The three-dimensional quality of her work gives the room depth and breaks the boundary between indoors and outdoors.
Brasserie Max Elegant, polished, and perfect
The restaurant's interior boasts polished woods, cozy alcoves, and a pewter bar that's ideal for a martini. Simplicity is key, with a focus on quality, seasonal produce comes from the Cotswolds. Favorites include the chicken liver pâté with rhubarb and apple chutney and brioche and Roast cod with tomato, olives, brown shrimp, and sea purslane.
