A former paper mill set on the river Sihl—one still sees the towering brick chimney from its factory days—the building has undergone a meticulous renovation that fully respects its heritage.
Embracing conservational challenges, the architects transformed the hotel’s columns, which couldn’t be removed, repainted, or covered, into beautiful tree-like structures using greenery and lighting. Throughout the hotel, unconventional shapes and a playful blend of materials, including stone, wood, ceramic tiles, and glass bricks, create an inspiring yet relaxing atmosphere. Small apartments are also available for longer stays and families.

Drawing inspiration from the avant-garde Dada movement born in Zurich, the hotel’s design celebrates the artistry of collage techniques.
Through layered materials and a bold combination of colors and patterns a la the Dada period, the designer has created dynamic yet fully harmonious spaces. Here, you will discover eclectic wallpaper with graphical effects alongside custom-designed sofas draped in rich copper-colored velvet. Original pieces, areas of toned-down hues, and existing window niches covered with a warm walnut veneer add a comforting stability to the bold vibrancy.
