Architecture Ancient meets contemporary
The rusty-red colored façade references the wine caves that reside beneath the building, as if it were stained by the wine that once sat in the tanks there. The hotel’s public spaces are distributed around a cobblestoned central courtyard inspired by the region’s Roman heritage and sheltered between two buildings, forming a place for dining or intimate events. Internally, the use of raw, stained concrete echoes the agro-industrial history of the building.
Interior design Drip & Drip
A prevailing deep red color, complemented by concrete, brick, granite, terrazzo, oak, and larch, set the hotel’s warm and welcoming tone. Each floor is characterized by its own color—dark green, dark red, basalt black, and blue—representing the fundamental elements of the region: foliage, grapes, minerals, and spring water, with herringbone parquet floors adding gravitas. Olivetti typewriters, old newspapers, industrial artifacts, and secondhand classics set a historical tone, while a curated art collection adds contemporary allure.
Well-being Past perfect
Extraordinary underground baths are the setting for wellness treatments that perfectly complement a day of skiing on the nearby world-renowned slopes. The converted tanks each have a different water temperature, so swimmers and bathers can always find the perfect spot to unwind.
Food & Drink Full circle
Celebrating the idea of sharing plates, Le Cercle has a rich aesthetic, both in its design and its culinary delights. La Saucithèque, meanwhile, showcases the hotel’s emphasis on wine, which is born from the site’s history as a winery in the late 19th century. Those on the go will also love Alphonse—facing a sunny garden, the informal eatery presents light food, healthy drinks, and more.
Destination Swiss bliss
Contemporary exhibits, archaeological treasures, and an international annual arts festival spark conversations that carry over to the bars and cafés that fill the town’s historic center. Just outside of Martigny, one can find top-notch skiing, climbing, and cycling, as well as vineyards and orchards that thrive in the region’s celebrated sunny weather.
