the hotel was was entirely rebuilt between 2013 and 2017. Thanks to a façade of linseed-oil-treated wooden slats, balconies and balustrades of larch wood and cedar, and opus incertum stonework, onlookers are immediately struck by the influence that the surrounding natural landscape had on the building’s architectural identity.

Walls are embellished with monochromatic works of mountain sports photography, while furnishings range in texture from raw fabrics to natural leathers. Earthy color palettes in communal areas—with warmer beiges in rooms and suites—are complemented by fir wood detailing and unpolished stonework. Large windows ensure the Alpine-chic spaces are illuminated by natural light.

Chandolin Boutique Hotel
Chandolin Boutique Hotel has been completely transformed by Vissoie-based architecture firm Kittel SA. The façade was renovated in such a way as to preserve the traditional Swiss chalet style using high-quality materials such as stone and wood.
Refillable amenities are used in the rooms, reusable packaging is chosen over plastic, and food waste is composted.
The hotel uses 100% natural pellets for heating and hot water, as well as Minergie-compliant design and energy-saving features.
Chandolin Boutique Hotel sources 90% of its food locally, alongside aromatic plants from their own garden and very few imported ingredients such as spices, from abroad.
The hotel offers guests the Anniviers Liberté pass, which gives access and discounts to many local activities. Hiking excursions can be organized for guests on request.
Guests can take part in outdoor yoga classes during the summer season, as well as organized wildflower and foraging hikes, trout fishing, and access to rental mountain and e-bikes. A range of local culinary activities such as Wallis wine tasting and rye bread baking are also on offer.
The hotel has one room for people with reduced mobility. All the public areas of the hotel are wheelchair accessible. The hotel accepts all pets, so assistance dogs are welcome.
