when it was common for elite housing to be converted into smaller dwellings for multiple families. The property is a reinterpretation of this traditional Mexican patio-centric house, with a central open space and rooftop pool and bar-restaurant serving as gathering spaces for the community and private patios leading to guestrooms.

while furnishings by local design firm La Metropolitana include a number of pieces inspired by the Shaker movement. Oaxacan textiles and weaved palm also feature throughout the property and reference local design heritage.
