Architecture Original building
Trunk House resides inside a wooden house that has been standing in central Kagurazaka since the early 20th century.
Due to the building’s historical significance, the architects vowed only to make structural changes for reinforcement purposes and left the exterior in its original state. Previously, the house was used as a Ryotei—a traditional Japanese restaurant—and a geisha practice room.
