Architecture Sextantio
Set throughout a medieval hamlet that was falling into disrepair, the hotel was carefully modernized by local architects.
The architects and archaeologists remained true to the town’s history. Contemporary amenities have been hidden or elegantly integrated. The heating system, for instance, has been installed under the floors by removing and later replacing each stone in its initial location. Regional furnishing has been replicated, while the guestrooms are spread along the narrow, cobblestone streets of the village.
Interior design Simple & sublime
Stone walls, wood ceilings, and fireplaces create simple spaces from a bygone era and a stripped-back luxury experience.
Under picturesque archways and behind handsomely carved stone doorways, guests will enter incredible but simple quarters. The baths are contemporary and curvilinear: freestanding, vase-like basins are borded by stacks of candles and rich, wooden furnishing. Light seeps in through small protrusions in the stone walls, while working wood fireplaces provide extra heat in the winter.
