Grand ceiling frescoes and standalone art and design pieces make this hotel unlike any other in Puglia.
Local foods cooked by chef’s from the region mean richly authentic Italian cuisine.
In the summer, the outdoor pool hosts a tapas bar—perfect for long afternoons with a delicious aperitivo.
Retaining a flavor of its Greek past, the Salento region of southern Italy is peppered with neoclassical, Baroque, and Byzantine architecture. Gagliano del Capo, like other villages in Salento, is full of ancient courtyard houses and buildings situated around a historical square.

Architecture Domenico Malinconico
serving to exaggerate the grandeur of original ceiling frescoes and mosaic flooring. Ludovica + Roberto Palomba turned the building’s layout around, converting the ground floor living areas into spaces for exhibiting art. At the back of the building, the guestrooms and gathering spots look onto a series of courtyards. Historical features, meanwhile, such as the property’s 19th-century chapel, have been restored.
Interior design Ludovica + Roberto Palomba
Site-specific works chosen by Francesco Petrucci, such a Luigi Presicce lamp, Nicolas Party stools, Roberto Cuoghi sculpture, Simon d’Exea light box, Mohamed Namou’s “pocket”, and Carla Accardi’s lithography mix seamlessly with ancient portraits.
