Interior design Minarc
Designed by Minarc, the Icelandic architectural duo who also worked on the sister Ion Adventure property, the hotel is a proud showcase of national themes and design, with interiors that make clever references to all things Icelandic. The lobby, for example, imitates the countryside with a real birch tree behind the reception desk and a custom-designed “bird’s nest” light hanging from the ceiling.
Architecture The weft of Reykjavik
augmented by walls featuring a motif inspired by traditional Icelandic weaving. Indeed, tradition is at the heart of Ion City’s architectural thinking as the hotel immerses guests in the city, inviting them to look outward at the environment around them.
Food & Drink Middle Eastern with Icelandic flair
Locals and visitors come to Sumac for delicious cuisine and enticing Mediterranean cocktails. Here, at one of the country’s most popular restaurants, you will discover quality ingredients cooked with Middle Eastern and North African influences.
City Small city, big adventure
A buzzing nightlife scene, a truly global range of cuisines, and a host of day-trip options to lunar lava fields, majestic waterfalls, and spouting geysers add to the city’s undeniable charm.
