Architecture Empi Spathi
The Bold Type was brilliantly conceived and restored by architect Empi Spathi with the structure’s heritage firmly in mind.
Blending seamlessly with the city’s traditional look, the existing shell that houses the hotel was treated as a work of art by the architect, retaining its original color and timeless feel. Soaring ceilings throughout the public spaces encourage gathering and highlight a sophisticated hospitality air, with everything flowing effortlessly to a magnificent, well-preserved Mediterranean garden.
Interior design Empi Spathi
The hotel’s design organically highlights the colors of the city through an inspired three-tone approach.
The first floor presents a brick-red color as an homage to the city’s ancient theater. The second floor, defined by cobalt, is a tribute to the color of the original house. And on the third, green augments the plants and trees that embrace the structure. Fine walnut, restored marble and wood floors, and authentic wooden shutters create the perfect frame for Calligaris rugs, Varagis furniture, and Cocomat mattresses.
