Interiors pare luxury down to its serene and subtle essence, but spare no expense with furnishings by Donghia and Chinese antiques handpicked by proprietor Lutz Hesse. The handcrafted tables and ornaments provide solid accents among the soft colors of raw silk curtains and cherry-wood floors. In bathrooms, an interplay between clear and opaque reflects the city’s multifarious identity.

At the epicenter of cutting-edge architecture, the hotel stands proud above the bustle with a rectilinear, rust-red façade.

In an urban center built anew by international star architects, the hotel is one of three Potsdamer Platz projects by Ulrike Lauber and Wolfram Wöhr. While windows of the first-floor Qiu Restaurant & Bar hideaway offer glimpses of the city rushing by, the all-suites residence is meant to provide long-term guests discreet relief from the area’s hustle and bustle, with most rooms facing the inner courtyard.
