Paris of the 1920s meets the cosmopolitan Berlin of today. Think velvet, marble, brass, and twinkling chandeliers.
The interior takes inspiration from 1920s Paris and the Berlin of today. While original stucco elements, marble, brass, and fishbone parquet flooring spell elegance, velvets and a burlesque-inspired aesthetic—complete with dim chandeliers—add a playful touch. A color scheme of dark-red, petrol-blue, black, and brass runs throughout. Local and international artwork abounds.

Behind an Art Nouveau façade, the hotel features such highlights as a restored elevator from 1912.
Typical of Berlin’s Charlottenburg neighborhood, the 1911 building that houses Provocateur is a picture of modern-style Art Nouveau architecture, originally designed by Wilhelm Gutzeit. A residential building, the structure was converted into a hotel after World War II. Its stern façade was recently renovated by TSSB Architekten Ingenieure, reanimating the building’s classic personality.
