Architecture From coal to diamonds
Gothic features and a stunning façade are the calling card for the city’s former Ministry of Coal building.
Built in 1884, the structure that houses the hotel blends its industrial past with modern elegance. Original features have been carefully preserved, with the entranceway and courtyard spectacularly draped with delicate trelliswork and greenery, all bathed in glowing light. Here, one gets an immediate send of warmth and intrigue just by stepping foot into the hotel.

An eclectic curation of richly layered fabrics are injected with Prague’s vibrant culture to create spaces that are uniquely Czech and wholly amazing.
Inspired by the building’s Gothic history, the designers have drawn attention to traditional stonework and ornate ceilings, while introducing geometric shapes and graphic patterns inspired by the Czech Republic’s Cubist era. Here, contrasting materials provide a wonderfully unique and energetic aesthetic. Rooms have beautiful views of the Vltava River and whimsical artwork that highlights the city’s charm.
