Architecture Lens°Ass
Acclaimed French painter Jacques-Louis David lived—and painted—here, and his original façade has been integrated into the new construction by the Belgian architecture firm Lens Ass. As guests enter the lofty, high-ceilinged public spaces, their breath is taken away by the intricate details and by what the hotel has dubbed “dramatic intimacy”.
Interior design FG Stijl
The interiors were designed by the renowned Dutch design team FG Stijl, which won the prestigious Prix-Villegiature Paris for Best Interior Design in 2005. A stroll through the Monastery Corridor evokes an almost medieval feeling of elegance with original Belgian stone flooring, while The Grand Lounge, considered the heart of The Dominican, boasts impressive windows and metalwork.
Food & Drink The connoisseur’s settings
Renowned classics presented with an international twist and sublime sophistication make the hotel’s Grand Lounge a place both to relax and indulge. Discretely tucked behind the abbey’s façade, the bar is home to warm velvet chairs, large windows, cozy corners, and a menu that includes fine Belgian cheeses. And set in blissful garden with an inviting terrace under a spectacular fig tree, The Courtyard patio is one of the city’s premier outdoor settings.
