The Originals
Stamba Hotel takes its responsibilities to heart: representing Georgia and forging a more conscious path forward. To create the Tbilisi hotel, Adjara Arch Group renovated a former Soviet publishing house while maintaining the original structure, façade, and details of historical significance. To further reduce its footprint, the designers used a variety of repurposed, reclaimed, and vintage pieces to craft the interiors. Stamba benefits from the Adjara Group’s large farm, which yields enough produce to cover nearly all of its needs. The hotel itself is home to Space Farm, Georgia’s first vertical farm, where organic leafy greens, edible flowers, strawberries, and miniature vegetables are grown. Built across 200 square meters, the facility uses 75 percent less water than traditional farming. Stamba has become a cultural touchstone in the city, supporting initiatives such as Oxygen – Biennial of Contemporary Arts, Propaganda: an in-house arts council organization, Tbilisi Photography and Multimedia Museum, Tbilisi Architecture Biennial, and more, and showcasing the work of local artists.
